Not only mutual love unites Antonia and Andi, but also a love of the mountains, nature, tradition and the enjoyment of meeting with other people. It’s not really hard to find these commonalities between a genuine Bavarian girl and a boy born in Salzburg, as everyone who knows them will agree! Whereas Antonia’s roots are in Bavaria, more precisely in the district of Regensburg, Andi’s roots are deeply intertwined with his native town of Lofer!
The idea to build a ski bar in the Almenwelt arose in 2012, with the construction of the 8-seater Schwarzeck lift. The two entrepreneurs started with a small "7-metre umbrella bar" in the 2012/13 winter season. After three successful winters, their numerous long-standing guests "demanded" more space, and therefore in the summer of 2015 they invested once more and extended the interior and exterior areas of the Kuhbar.
Guests are received with charm, humour and warmth in the traditional Kuhbar and the cosy Hallensteinerkaser mountain lodge in Lofer. The highly-apparent and honest Salzburg-Bavarian hospitality is never lacking, because it is part of the hosts’ lives!
However, the most important and beautiful part of their shared lives are their daughters: Vroni (born 2014) and Katharina, the “newest addition to the family” who was born in 2017.
